A classic of second-wave Dirty South, this 2005 song by the Youngbloodz is less well known than their collaboration with Lil Jon "Damn" but it one of my favorites. The lyrics, typical declarations of their savvy at criminal enterprise, are improved through the marble-mouth delivery that signals, along with the thick thump of the beat, the essence of what Atlanta brought to the hip hop palette. What makes this song, though, is the unique hook. Conceived by Scott Storch, a rap producer equally famous for crafting thoughtful and catchy riffs and sniffing $100 million dollars worth of wealth up his nose, whatever horn that is (Sax?, French?, Tuba?--I don't know) elevates the songs from forgettable to memorable.
